Tincture Guide
Rooted in Creation. Created with Purpose.
Welcome to the heart of Ritzy Rage Apothecary—where handcrafted herbal tinctures meet faith-filled wellness. This guide will help you understand what tinctures are, how to use them, and how to get the most from your natural remedies.
What Is a Tincture?
A tincture is a concentrated herbal extract made by soaking carefully chosen herbs in alcohol or glycerin. This process draws out the plant's medicinal properties, delivering powerful, fast-absorbing support to the body in small doses. Our tinctures are made in small batches using high-quality ingredients, prayerfully prepared, and rooted in creation.
How Do I Take a Tincture?
Tinctures are typically taken by mouth using a dropper bottle.
- Standard Adult Dose: 1–2 droppers full (about 30–60 drops), 1–3 times daily, or as needed.
- How to Take: You may take it directly under the tongue for fast absorption or add it to a small amount of water, juice, or tea.
Always shake the bottle well before each use.
Note: Each product page includes dosage suggestions specific to the formula. Some tinctures are not safe for children, pregnant, or nursing individuals—please read each listing carefully.
What Does It Taste Like?
Tinctures often have a strong herbal or slightly bitter taste due to the natural compounds of the plants. This is normal and a sign of potency. You can mix your dose with water or juice to make it more palatable, if preferred.
Alcohol vs. Glycerin Tinctures
We offer both alcohol-based tinctures (typically made with 80-proof vodka like Tito’s) and glycerite tinctures for children and those sensitive to alcohol. Both forms are effective, but alcohol tinctures tend to have a longer shelf life and stronger extraction power, especially for roots, barks, and resins.
Storage & Shelf Life
- Alcohol Tinctures: Store in a cool, dark place. Shelf life is 2+ years.
- Glycerin Tinctures: Best used within 1 year. Keep tightly sealed and away from direct sunlight or heat.
Safety & Precautions
We encourage everyone to research the herbs they are taking and consult with a healthcare provider if pregnant, nursing, on medication, or managing a medical condition. Tinctures are powerful plant-based tools and should be used with wisdom and intention.
